Annual Giving 2007-2008 is progressing well! Our goal is $225,000 by June 30 and more than $210,000 has been raised to date. Thank you the many SHS current families, alumni families, faculty, staff and friends who have already made their gift this year.
We need you to make SHS’ Annual Giving program a success
Sterling Hall parents, alumni, faculty, staff and friends show their support for The Sterling Hall School by making a charitable gift to the school each year. Help us to make this year’s participation rate 100%! All gifts are eligible to receive a charitable tax receipt and range in size from $50 to $10,000. All contributions are used to enhance every aspect of learning and teaching. With your support we can continually add to each and every boy's experience at SHS.
Why are Annual Gifts important to SHS and how to they impact students?
Annual gifts bridge the gap between the status quo and moving SHS forward. This year, our priorities to which Annual gifts may be directed include: The Sterling Priority Fund, Arts & Languages, Athletics, Homeroom Enhancements and Science & Technology.
§ The Sterling Priority Fund – is used to benefit the whole school’s immediate needs under the direction of Principal Ian Robinson. Future funds will be used to enhance the Resource Centre and Library; to bring in new Guest Public Speakers; to further develop our Global Awareness Program, our Environmental Initiatives and our Electives Program.
§ Arts & Languages – The curriculum in Art, Music, Drama, French and English are enhanced with gifts to this fund. Current priorities include: the Drama Program, the French AIM Program and the English Writing Curriculum.
§ Athletics – Building healthy boys and developing a love of athletics is a passion for our Health and Physical Education Department. Offering opportunities for skill development and fun, current priorities: include age specific equipment in JK to Grade 2 and fitness equipment.
§ Homeroom Enhancements – Our homerooms are the centre of each students’ universe at Sterling Hall. Gifts will be spent in a variety of homerooms under the direction of Principal Ian Robinson. Our goal is to enhance homerooms throughout the school and priorities include: student desks and chairs and curriculum Materials.
§ Science & Technology – Enhancing the science program and lab equipment is an ongoing priority at SHS. We are also continuing to blend classroom instruction with technology to facilitate communication and learning. Science and Technology are constantly being refreshed and expanded and priorities include: science lab equipment, smartboards and classroom projectors.
Your family's annual gift will help SHS maintain and develop academic and extracurricular programs. Please join us and support The Sterling Hall School.
