Ribbons are awarded to boys in Grade 3 - 8 once per term.
Junior Division Ribbons - Grade 3 to 5
The following 3 ribbons will be awarded in Grades 3 to 5 once per term.
The Order of Junior Division, based on the Order of Canada, is awarded to a student who demonstrates initiative in the classroom, and rises to the challenge when presented with leadership responsibilities. He is a model SHS student and follows the SHS morals.
The Junior Nobel Prize, based on the Nobel Prize, is awarded to a student who is excelling academically in any one or a number of academic subjects.
The Sterling Award of Merit, based on the Purple Heart (US) and Victoria Cross (CDN), is awarded to a student who demonstrates excellent work habits and participates fully and co-operatively during lessons.
Ribbon earners are chosen through a combination of nominations by: peers, specialist teachers, and homeroom teachers.
Intermediate Division Ribbons - Grade 6 to 8
Ribbons will be awarded for Character, Effort and Achievement, Physical Education and Health, and the Arts. These ribbons will be awarded at each of the three Term-End Ribbon Assemblies.
