Junior Division

During these years, we continue to foster and encourage the boys to be active and engaged learners who respect the different perspectives of others. In this Division, we focus on discussions and lessons that relate the classroom experiences to realities in the outside world.

Two more of our innovative programs are introduced during these years: Sharkopoly and Rocket Writing. These programs were developed by The Sterling Hall School based on research indicating how boys learn best. By "playing" Sharkopoly, boys learn about a novel, grammar, and essential writing skills. Rocket Writing is a fun way to approach the writing process and encourages more fully developed thinking and communication skills.

As well, participation continues in our Inquiry Program, which encourages the boys to be independent and critical thinkers who ask questions to further their own knowledge and understanding.

In these grades, we increase the hands-on use of technology to assist and enhance the learning experience.
