Ways to Give

It is only through charitable investments from our community that SHS is able to meet the needs of its students today, and plan and invest for the future.

There are many ways that you can make a gift to the School:

Annual Giving

Annual Giving makes up the difference between what tuition covers and the actual cost of running our school. An Annual Gift has immediate results, enhancing the overall SHS experience and having a direct impact on the daily lives of our boys. Annual Gifts are usually unrestricted, meaning that donors allow the School to spend the funds on what it deems necessary.

Capital Giving

Capital Giving includes major gifts to fund building and endowment needs that the school cannot pay for out of tuition funds. Capital Gifts generally fund brick-and-mortar building projects, including new facilities and major renovations.

Endowments

Endowments are large gifts in which the principal is protected, and any interest that is earned through the investment of the funds can be spent. Endowment funds are permanently restricted. At SHS, they are generally used to provide student scholarships and bursaries. Endowments are an important means of providing for future generations, as well as helping to further our mission to provide a high quality of education to boys from diverse backgrounds.

Endowments and Capital Gifts may be provided through gifts of cash or securities. Learn more about the tax benefits of giving securities as a Charitable Gift.
