The House System at Sterling Hall gives our boys a sense of belonging. It teaches them about leadership and fosters a sense of camaraderie in students to encourage healthy competition, to develop school spirit and to give students a tangible sense of achievement from their positive actions.
There are four Houses at The Sterling Hall School, named after our Founding Board Members (Howard, McClintock, Morrison and Plumb). Every student is assigned membership in a House upon entering SHS and each House is composed of approximately the same number of students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8, as well as faculty and staff. Boys retain their membership in their House for as long as they are at SHS and even after they leave. Family members are traditionally associated with the same House.
There are fun-filled House events throughout the year including House Games and rallies, Shark Spirit Assemblies, House Olympics events and House Colour Days. Boys proudly wear their House Colours on as a sign of solidarity with other House members and pride in their school.
