We accept applications at all grade levels. Our natural entry points are Junior Kindergarten and Grade 1 where we add a new class. 

SK, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 5, Grade 6 and Grade 7 are also entry years and we accept 4-10 boys depending on the grade level.

There is an annual tuition fee, which is the same for students at all grade levels. SHS offers several tuition payment method options. Please see our fees page for more information.

Yes. New students must pay an additional non-refundable Admissions Fee of $7000, which is used for capital expenditures to enhance the school and the opportunities for its students.

Our student-teacher ratio is 7:1. Many teachers support each boy’s education, particularly in the foundational, core program areas of literacy and numeracy, which are taught in smaller groups.

Boys may be dropped off to the Early Morning Program between 7:00 am and 8:00 am, where they will be supervised by a teacher. Regular school day supervision begins outdoors at 8:00 am. We provide options for After-School Care (3:45pm - 5:45 pm, at a daily charge) for Junior Kindergarten - Grade 6, and Study Hall (3:45 pm - 4:30 pm, free of charge) for Grades 3 - 8. While Grade 7 and 8 boys are permitted to leave campus at the end of the day, if they stay at school they are in a supervised area. As well, there are more than 30 teams and many clubs in which students can participate before or after regular class hours.

Before and After School

We have one bus that serves a number of families.  We also have a great carpool system that our families use to connect with other families.  Other families use private transportation services or drivers. Contact SHS for more information.

We encourage all boys to participate in our many clubs and sports teams, and offer a range of clubs to appeal to boys of all interests and at all levels. There are generally 30 different clubs and athletic teams offered each term.  Besides special travel outside the GTA, these co-curricular activities are included in the tuition cost.

There is so much choice for an SHS graduate. Our Director of Graduate Placement works hand-in-hand with our Grade 8 students and their families. The Sterling Hall School is focused on providing healthy food options to all our students and selects food service partners that share this philosophy. SHS offers an optional hot lunch program for all students with several alternatives from full to partial plans and a milk program. Our food service provider is Aramark Canada Ltd, an award-winning independent school team with a focus on healthy, fresh food. SHS also offers a retail-based service at the Blue Window service that allows boys to purchase food, charging purchases to their account. Students in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 2 receive two healthy snacks each day, prepared on site. Find out more about our food program here.
