Why Sterling Hall

As an independent day school for boys from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8, we focus all our energy on what can help our boys to succeed, both academically and as individuals with passions to discover and skills to develop.

At Sterling Hall, boys find a supportive, inclusive community with a genuine interest in meeting them where they are and helping each boy discover who he can be.

Ever since founding principal Darlene Ferris envisioned a school that would provide primary-aged boys with both excellent education and a supportive environment, we’ve been doing all we can to build that community, a place where boys belong.

Our parents are an integral part of our community, and they tell us that they choose Sterling Hall for our small class sizes (the student: teacher ratio is 7:1), our curriculum with its emphasis on what makes boys thrive, our relational learning and experiential education, and our enriching co-curricular opportunities. Our graduates also come back and tell us how much their time at SHS meant to them—at pub events, during class visits or even when meeting as players on the SHS Old Boys Basketball league.

But perhaps our best reference is the enthusiasm and buzz that visitors hear in the hallway—the laughter of students becoming friends and the sense of community. If you’d like to see us in action, please connect with our team and book a tour.
