An optional Hot Lunch program is available for all students. Students enrolled in the Hot Lunch program will be provided with the daily plate special as written in the seasonal menu calendar.

Junior Kindergarten - Grade 2 students have a family style deli / vegetable plate and staff-served hot soup specially delivered to their table each day.

Grades 3 – 8 students will also have the ability to choose from a daily soup special and a self-serve salad / deli sandwich bar.

Milk, juice and water are provided to all students in the Hot Lunch program. Students are also given the opportunity to request “seconds” of their favourite meal items and self-serve options are provided in the same way.

Options:

• Full-Year Plan – For families who wish to participate every day during the school year with only one authorization letter.
• Term Plan – For families who wish to review menus before registering each term.
• Partial Plan – For families who wish to supplement lunches brought from home.
• Milk Program – For families who wish to provide their child with daily cold milk or juice service.

The cost of the Hot Lunch program will be charged to a student’s account per term, based on the level requested. The price per meal is based on the type of plan – the full-year plan offers the best value.

Students can opt for a retail-based service at our canteen, nicknamed the Blue Window, allowing boys more flexibility in what they may purchase. Under this system, the boys are charged only when they use their Blue Window card. Menu items in this area include additional daily hot food specials and promotions, pre-made vegetable and fruit snacks, pre-made sandwiches, sushi and salad selections as well as a rotating assortment of single-serve drinks and packaged snacks.

Most boys adopt a very responsible approach to their purchases. However, some may spend more than parents anticipate. We ask that parents review expectations with their sons and agree together on their use of the Blue Window card. All participation will be billed to parents’ accounts based on their selection at the beginning of each term. Due to purchasing, stocking and productions requirements, reimbursements will only be made for the following events:

1. Illness lasting over five (5) school days. Notification to the food service of your son’s absence from the Hot Lunch program is required in writing. Please provide us with a date of return in order to allow for his meal production when he is well enough to attend.
2. Vacation absence lasting over five (5) days. Notification to the food service of your son’s absence from the Hot Lunch program is required in writing no later than three (3) full business days before vacation start date. Please provide us with the start and end date of the vacation.
