The Growing Together Campaign

Creating Spaces for Our Boys to Belong, Learn and Thrive.

Growing Together is the most significant capital improvement in the school's history - a project that will transform our learning environment.

We will seek to address the school's immediate needs with a new 27,000 square foot building, adding 1.5 acres to our campus, along with 8 large, bright homerooms; a spectacular and welcoming entrance; a community gathering space; 4 breakout spaces for small group learning; improved traffic flow and additional parking; and meaningful green spaces for exploration and reflection.

The new entrance will exhibit a bold, fresh look toward SHS Drive that will reorient the campus to make the entrance easier to locate, improve drop-off, pickup, safety, parking and reflect the wonder and belonging taking place within the halls of SHS.

NEW LOBBY AND SCHOOL LAYOUT.

Redesigned Lobby.

This central hub will provide our community with a versatile space that is welcoming and better connects all areas of our school. Community is at the heart of everything we do at SHS - and this campaign will create an intentional space to foster connections between boys during the school day and a central meeting area for families and caregivers.

COMMUNITY GATHERING SPACE.

New Community Space with Green Wall.

The construction of the new building will provide additional space for our boys, replacing undersized homerooms and hallways, including new administrative offices and eliminating the last of the aging temporary portables. The new building will have plenty of large windows to provide ample natural light, and eco-friendly design throughout, including a green wall.

NEW HOMEROOMS AND BREAKOUT AREAS, DESIGNED ESPECIALLY FOR OUR GROWING BOYS.

Boy-Focused Learning Spaces.

The new homerooms and breakout areas have been designed with boys' interests and academic needs in mind. The new homerooms will be approximately 700 square feet, up from the current 450 square feet, allowing adequate space for our boys to work individually and in collaboration.

The New Campus Map.

This project marks an important step in realizing the Master Campus Plan, created alongside the SHS community to envision the growth of The Sterling Hall School campus thoughtfully and intentionally over time. Looking to the future will not exclude the foundation upon which SHS was built— a small, boys' elementary school in a welcoming community where each boy is inspired and empowered through his formative years.
