Summer Camps at SHS cancelled due to COVID-19
We have made the necessary decision to cancel camps that use the SHS campus over the summer - Camp Creativity and Debate Camp Canada. Refunds are in the process of being issued to registered families. This decision was guided by the current public health advice that the Chief Medical Officer has provided to the City of Toronto around activities of this nature, and the degree of uncertainty associated with community spread of COVID-19.
Despite the Government of Ontario’s announcement on May 19 that if Ontario enters a Phase 2 protocol, summer day camps will be permitted, the challenges of safely delivering our program while maintaining its high quality of service would be severely hampered. SHS Summer Camp families have come to expect an exceptional level of childcare, activity, and fun, and the parameters of the health and safety guidelines issued by the government would not allow us to safely and fairly deliver our service.
The one-and-only Camp Creativity at SHS is run by our beloved SHS art educator Dorota Trnik, this camp provides two weeks of activity including innovative design thinking and creative problem-solving in an environment of fun, energy and wonderment!
SHS faculty include Andrew Kilmer, Drew Gulyas, Daniel Szwarc and Suzanne Lagacey. Your kids can participate in sports, art and STEAM projects while enjoying the best of our indoor and outdoor facilities. They'll meet new friends and enjoy their day with current schoolmates and our caring, empowering teachers.
