Why Give?
Our parents, alumni families, faculty and staff, and friends have made a direct and beneficial impact on The Sterling Hall School through their gifts.
Independent schools do not receive any public or government support; they are financed solely through tuition and through gifts. Nor do independent schools make a profit; instead, every dollar goes toward advancing the school’s programs and campus. Your contribution helps SHS maintain the high-quality facilities that help our boys learn and grow today, as well as guaranteeing excellence for the future.
Like all other independent schools, we aim for 100% participation in our Annual Giving campaign. A high participation rate is a vote of confidence that demonstrates parents’ support of the school’s mission. It can also have an impact on gifts from outside sources, since most funding bodies consider parent participation rate before agreeing to donate.
Providing financial support also sets an example to our boys that giving back to the community and supporting causes that reflect our values is an important and worthwhile goal.
If you have any questions about philanthropy at SHS, please contact Jill Palmer, Executive Director of Advancement.
