Anchor Day at Sterling

On Monday, September 21, we kicked off our outdoor education program at SHS! Each grade experienced their very own Anchor Day, where our boys engaged in fun outdoor activities that help to build community and trust. In the place of our regular Experiential Learning Program, this exciting new outdoor program allowed all of us to “anchor” ourselves to SHS as we Build Character, Community, and a sense of Belonging.

Each grade had 1 ½ hours of outdoor educational activities here on campus, facilitated by our friends at Adventureworks!. Adventureworks! is a leading edge adventure-based organization that SHS has been working with for a number of years to create custom experiential learning programs that reflect SHS’s values of Community and Character. Each grade then spent 30 minutes debriefing and connecting with their homeroom.

It is these connections and memories that will anchor the grade as they ready themselves for a new year. As always, proper safety protocols will be adhered to at all times.

Should you have any questions, please reach out to Andrew Kilmer at akilmer@sterlinghall.com and stay tuned for an upcoming Assembly presentation to see what it all looked like.
