Indigenous Learning

Thank you to Dr. Wemigwans (OISE), for the professional development session she held for our Faculty and Staff this week. Her 'Understanding Indigenous Views and Knowledge' discussion, allowed us to explore very important concepts and related pedagogies in meaningful and constructive ways. We look forward to her next virtual visit!

Dr. Wemigwans is an assistant professor in the Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education at OISE. She is an Anishinaabekwe (Ojibwe/Potawatomi) from Wikwemikong First Nation. Her study, “The Indigenous Timekeepers Project,” is being supported by a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada Insight Development Grant. She is the author of A Digital Bundle: Protecting and Promoting Indigenous Knowledge Online (2018).

We look forward to learning more about Indigenous views and knowledge in our next session with her.
